About the role

As FP&A Senior Analyst, you’ll be a key partner to the Group FP&A team responsible for driving insight, improving financial processes, and ensuring robust financial decision making. You'll assist in implementing and running all the financial planning and management reporting processes, working with teams across Finance and the business to define and deliver robust, high-quality management information and insight.

To be successful you'll have strong analytical, process improvement, and communication skills. You'll also be happy to roll up your sleeves when needed to work through and solve problems, working across large data sets and providing quality analysis to enable action / results.

In this role you'll work on a hybrid basis, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays being office days in Bristol and the rest of the week working remotely.
 
Key areas of responsibility will include:
 
  • Working closely with the Head of FP&A, providing clear financial planning and analysis across the business, focusing on the monthly closing, forecasts and budget reporting, and our 5 year plan.
  • Production of high quality, insightful management reporting, including actuals, budgets, forecasts, and operating dashboard / KPIs for the Executive team and Board.
  • Analysing consolidated budgets and forecasts and providing first round of challenge to the business areas, including building gap mitigation actions.
  • Working closely with the Head of FP&A on the monthly closing process and reporting of actual results, providing detailed variance analysis of the results to all key business trends.
  • Consolidating key FTE and KPI data on a monthly basis, in a consistent way as defined by FP&A.
  • Driving focus on value and efficiency as part of the decision making process.
  • Maintaining and continually improving current planning software models in Anaplan.
  • Preparing ad-hoc analysis as required by CFO.

Skills & experience

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA).
  • Experience using planning / financial tools (Anaplan preferred, but not essential).
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to identify key drivers of profitability.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel modelling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to identify and interpret trends and improve financial forecasting.
  • Adept at influencing others, able to challenge stakeholders at all levels when needed.
